I love to read-always have! Can't pick a fave book, too many that touched me at different times. Favorite books as a kid: Little House series and the Judy Blume's 'Deenie', 'Are you there God..' came a the right time for navigating pre-teen life. Living in Costa Rica where books would get damp with humidity, start smelling musty, etc, I love my iPad and Kindle app to read! Still like this method but sometimes holding a book book is where it's at!
I grew up on Little House on the Prairie too. Kindle has been a lifesaver living abroad! But I totally agree that there's nothing like the feeling of a book in hand.
